The Vermont Landscape
Anyone who has visited Vermont cherishes images of red barns, covered bridges, bright orange maple trees, apple orchards, green mountains, and rushing brooks and rivers. Preserving those sights–along with vivid midwinter sunrises, indigo shadows on snow, and the farm creatures who live alongside us–is my passion.
Animal Portraits
Having painted pigs, cows, goats, and sheep, as well as lots and lots of cats and dogs, I have to say that painting pet portraits is one of my favorite things to do. The colors and proportions are important, of course, but capturing the essence of the pet—that facial expression or unique stance—is the most important of all.

“I love having a painting by Grace hanging in my house. I walk by it many times a day and it gladdens my heart. Grace handles pastels so beautifully and the colors she chose for the river and landscape always cheer me, especially when it is winter and we long for warm, lush days. The painterly movement created in the trees and the sky evokes a summer breeze and afternoon warmth. The painting lights up the wall in my hallway.”
